Minnow’s Voice

Every dog has a voice.

Minnow’s was unforgettable.

She didn’t bark very much, but when she had something to say, everyone knew it.

Sometimes she sounded like a little tea kettle just beginning to whistle. Other times she’d let out the famous Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever scream—a sound that surprised just about everyone who heard it for the first time.

Those funny little sounds became part of who she was. They meant she was excited, impatient, happy, or simply ready for the next adventure.

If you knew Minnow, you knew her voice.

Somewhere between a whistle and a siren, this was one of Minnow’s funniest little sounds.

Minnow’s tiny “teapot” sound usually meant one thing… she was excited and couldn’t wait another second.

If you’ve never heard a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever scream, you’re in for a treat. It’s loud, dramatic, impossible to ignore… and completely normal for the breed. Minnow had perfected it.
