Road Trip Michigan to Tennessee & North Carolina 

One of our favorite adventures took us through the breathtaking landscapes of Tennessee and North Carolina, where winding mountain roads, cascading waterfalls, and scenic overlooks became the backdrop for unforgettable memories with Minnow.

On every trail, Minnow proved she was part mountain goat. She tackled steep climbs, rocky paths, and uneven terrain with a calm confidence that made every challenge look effortless.

One hike near Montreat, North Carolina, remains one of our favourites. We climbed nearly a thousand feet over just a few miles, navigating winding switchbacks and scrambling across massive boulders. While we carefully planned each step, Minnow simply flowed across the rocks with remarkable balance and confidence.

She always seemed to know exactly when it was time to pause. Whether it was stopping for a drink of water or taking in the mountain views, she reminded us that slowing down was just as important as reaching the next destination.

Minnow would have followed us anywhere—not because she cared about reaching the summit, but because being together was what mattered most.

Those mountain adventures were never about checking another trail off a list.

They were about sharing every step, every laugh, and every breathtaking view with the little dog who made every journey unforgettable.

Looking back, we realise the mountains weren’t what made those trips special.

Minnow did.
